Synospis of Bible Study 9/13/17

I. Introduction

In the period of tribulation, this is simply talking about the end of days.
We’ve have talked about the 7 seals and the 7 trumpets, so now we are about to see the 7 bowls

II. The seven last Plagues

A. The First Bowl: Foul and Painful Sores

Revelation 16:1-2 (NKJV) 16 Then I heard a loud voice from the temple saying to the seven angels, “Go and pour out the bowls[a] of the wrath of God on the earth.” 2 So the first went and poured out his bowl upon the earth, and a foul and loathsome sore came upon the men who had the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image.

Those who were following and worshipping the image of beast will experience boils when the first bowl is poured out onto the earth.

B. The Second Bowl: The Sea Turns to Blood

Revelation 16:3 (NKJV) 3 Then the second angel poured out his bowl on the sea, and it became blood as of a dead man; and every living creature in the sea died.

When the second bowl was poured, the sea became a sea of blood. This began the destruction of everything that was created that lived in the sea.

C. The Third Bowl: The Water Turns to Blood

Revelation 16:4-5 (NKJV) 4 Then the third angel poured out his bowl on the rivers and springs of water, and they became blood. 5 And I heard the angel of the waters saying: “You are righteous, O Lord,[a] The One who is and who was and who is to be,[b] Because You have judged these things.

The third bowl is poured and now the springs and rivers turned into blood. Notice the angel says, “You are righteous…” The angel says this, because God’s wrath is just. Because mankind shed the blood of God’s children, they have to drink the blood of the water, as part of God’s wrath.

D. The Fourth Bowl: Mankind Scorched by the Sun

Revelation 16:8-9 (NKJV) 8 Then the fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and power was given to him to scorch men with fire. 9 And men were scorched with great heat, and they blasphemed the name of God who has power over these plagues; and they did not repent and give Him glory

With the pouring of the Fourth Bowl, mankind was Instead of being in a mode of remorse or repentance, mankind cursed God for the torture they endured.

E. Fifth bowl – Darkness and pain.

Revelation 16:10-11 (NKJV) 10 Then the fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and his kingdom became full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues because of the pain. 11 They blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and did not repent of their deeds.

When the Fifth bowl was poured, it was poured on the throne of the beast. His kingdom gnawed their tongues and blasphemed God, because of their pain.
This is about system and kingdoms. This is judgment poured out upon a government. Why would God pour out judgment on the government?
1. Some people think the answer to the world is to deal with the sin within man. The problem is, the sin within man is not the only sin in world. You can’t deal with just the sin within me, you have to deal with the sin that I am in too. An example of the sin I’m in is my government. They try to make the bad look good and good to look bad. God is going to attack those systems and kingdoms, because they have also sinned against him.

F. The Sixth Bowl: The Euphrates Dried Up

Revelation 16:12-13 (NKJV) 12 Then the sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up, so that the way of the kings from the east might be prepared. 13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs coming out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.

When the Sixth bowl was poured, we see three unclean spirits like frogs coming out of the mouth of the dragon, the beast, and the false prophet.
1. These spirits are coming out for a reason. They are trying to organize all wickedness to fight against rightness. Revelation 16:16 (NKJV) 16 And they gathered them together to the place called in Hebrew, Armageddon.[a]
2. Armageddon is the prophesized location for the final battle between God and Satan.
Notice the three identities. Everything God does, Satan tries to copy. Example: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost. Satan has the dragon, the beast, and the false prophet.
False prophets are people who lie about prophecy. This is a false copy of a prophet. What you have then is prophecy without the anointing.

G. The Seventh Bowl: The Earth utterly Shaken

Revelation 16:17-18 (NKJV) 17 Then the seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air, and a loud voice came out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, “It is done!” 18 And there were noises and thunderings and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such a mighty and great earthquake as had not occurred since men were on the earth.

Revelation 16:21 (NKJV) 21 And great hail from heaven fell upon men, each hailstone about the weight of a talent. Men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail, since that plague was exceedingly great. – When the Seventh bowl was poured, there was a voice from heaven saying, “It is done”.

There was a great earthquake, bigger than any that ever occurred on earth before.
There was hail that fell from heaven about the weight of a talent. A talent is about
Now the entire earth is repositioned. God is uprooting evil out of the earth.
With this event, everything is starting to shift and move. God is proving that He and He alone is in complete control. Everything man has relied on at this point has been taken away!

III. The Triumph of Almighty God

A. Judgement Of the great whore. – civilized man part from God

a. The woman seated on the beast (17:1-6)

Revelation 17:1-6 (NKJV) 17 Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and talked with me, saying to me,[a] “Come, I will show you the judgment of the great harlot who sits on many waters, 2 with whom the kings of the earth committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth were made drunk with the wine of her fornication.” 3 So he carried me away in the Spirit into the wilderness. And I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast which was full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. 4 The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the filthiness of her fornication.[b] 5 And on her forehead a name was written:

MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS

OF THE EARTH.

6 I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. And when I saw her, I marveled with great amazement.

The woman was clothed in purple and scarlet. This suggests that she had wealth.
The woman was a harlot which suggests spiritual infidelity.
She had her hands stuffed with things others were intrigued by. This is sin is wrapped up in sin.
Her being is mysterious. Ex – If you will remember in the garden, this is how Satin seduced Eve. He made her think that God was trying to keep something from her, by not allowing her and Adam to eat of the tree. This created a mystery. It created doubt within her doubt.

b. The significance of the woman and the beast (17:7-14)

Revelation 17:7-14 (NKJV) 7 But the angel said to me, “Why did you marvel? I will tell you the mystery of the woman and of the beast that carries her, which has the seven heads and the ten horns. 8 The beast that you saw was, and is not, and will ascend out of the bottomless pit and go to perdition. And those who dwell on the earth will marvel, whose names are not written in the Book of Life from the foundation of the world, when they see the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.[a] 9 “Here is the mind which has wisdom: The seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman sits. 10 There are also seven kings. Five have fallen, one is, and the other has not yet come. And when he comes, he must continue a short time. 11 The beast that was, and is not, is himself also the eighth, and is of the seven, and is going to perdition. 12 “The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast. 13 These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast. 14 These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, for He is Lord of lords and King of kings; and those who are with Him are called, chosen, and faithful.”
The 7 heads represent seven mountains on which the woman sits.
The seven horns represent seven kings who receive authority for one hour.
The inhabitants will be amazed when they see what the beast really is. They will be amazed that the attractive woman was a beast as well.
All these give their power and authority to the beast.
Wickedness will have authority for one hour. Everything has a reason behind it.
1. Remember when Jesus told Peter and the other disciples with to watch and pray. They could not stay awake for one hour. In that our, Roman authority (the enemy) came!
The beast and those that follow him will make war with the Lamb, but they will lose.
Those that are with the Lamb are called chosen and faithful.

c. The punishment of the whore (17:15-18)

Revelation 17:15-18 (NKJV) 15 Then he said to me, “The waters which you saw, where the harlot sits, are peoples, multitudes, nations, and tongues. 16 And the ten horns which you saw on[a] the beast, these will hate the harlot, make her desolate and naked, eat her flesh and burn her with fire. 17 For God has put it into their hearts to fulfill His purpose, to be of one mind, and to give their kingdom to the beast, until the words of God are fulfilled. 18 And the woman whom you saw is that great city which reigns over the kings of the earth.”

Everyone was consumed with her.
The water where the harlot sits, represent people, nations, and tongues.
The ten horns represent those who hate the harlot and who will eventually, burn her.
The woman represents that great city which reigns over the kings of the earth.

B. The Judgement of Babylon

a. The fall of Babylon (18:1-3)

Revelation 18:1-3 (NKJV) 18 After these things I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having great authority, and the earth was illuminated with his glory. 2 And he cried mightily[a] with a loud voice, saying, “Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and a cage for every unclean and hated bird! 3 For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich through the abundance of her luxury.”

Babylon is the system of the world that says we don’t need God.
The people mentioned here are those, tied to the whore of Babylon.

b. A call to leave the city (18:4-5)

Revelation 18:4-5 (NKJV) 4 And I heard another voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues. 5 For her sins have reached[a] to heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities.

God is going to give her double of what she gave to you.
God warns of the price to pay for not leaving the city.

c. Judgement on the city (18:6-8)

Revelation 18:6-8 (NKJV) 6 Render to her just as she rendered to you,[a] and repay her double according to her works; in the cup which she has mixed, mix double for her. 7 In the measure that she glorified herself and lived luxuriously, in the same measure give her torment and sorrow; for she says in her heart, ‘I sit as queen, and am no widow, and will not see sorrow.’ 8 Therefore her plagues will come in one day—death and mourning and famine. And she will be utterly burned with fire, for strong is the Lord God who judges[b] her.

Babylon will in that day, reap for what she has sown.

d. A lament over the city’s fall (18:9-19)

Revelation 18:9-19 (NKJV) 9 “The kings of the earth who committed fornication and lived luxuriously with her will weep and lament for her, when they see the smoke of her burning, 10 standing at a distance for fear of her torment, saying, ‘Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! For in one hour your judgment has come.’ 11 “And the merchants of the earth will weep and mourn over her, for no one buys their merchandise anymore: 12 merchandise of gold and silver, precious stones and pearls, fine linen and purple, silk and scarlet, every kind of citron wood, every kind of object of ivory, every kind of object of most precious wood, bronze, iron, and marble; 13 and cinnamon and incense, fragrant oil and frankincense, wine and oil, fine flour and wheat, cattle and sheep, horses and chariots, and bodies and souls of men. 14 The fruit that your soul longed for has gone from you, and all the things which are rich and splendid have gone from you,[a] and you shall find them no more at all. 15 The merchants of these things, who became rich by her, will stand at a distance for fear of her torment, weeping and wailing, 16 and saying, ‘Alas, alas, that great city that was clothed in fine linen, purple, and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls! 17 For in one hour such great riches came to nothing.’ Every shipmaster, all who travel by ship, sailors, and as many as trade on the sea, stood at a distance 18 and cried out when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, ‘What is like this great city?’ 19 “They threw dust on their heads and cried out, weeping and wailing, and saying, ‘Alas, alas, that great city, in which all who had ships on the sea became rich by her wealth! For in one hour she is made desolate.’

Babylon was all about economy.
The love of money is the root of all evil. If you really think about it, most retaliation with God’s people, is about money.
1. Remember when Paul and Silas were cast into jail for casting the demon out of girl who told fortunes for her master. Her master was mad, because with the demon out of her, she was no longer able to tell the fortunes. This cost her masters a lot of money.
2. What about Jesus who turned over the money tables in the temple, because they had basically turned the temple into a market place?
Many lamented over the fall of the city. After all they had gained, there judgement was just one hour. They lost everything they gained within one hour.

e. The destruction of the city (18:20-24)

Revelation 18:20-24 (NKJV) 20 “Rejoice over her, O heaven, and you holy apostles[a] and prophets, for God has avenged you on her!” 21 Then a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone and threw it into the sea, saying, “Thus with violence the great city Babylon shall be thrown down, and shall not be found anymore. 22 The sound of harpists, musicians, flutists, and trumpeters shall not be heard in you anymore. No craftsman of any craft shall be found in you anymore, and the sound of a millstone shall not be heard in you anymore. 23 The light of a lamp shall not shine in you anymore, and the voice of bridegroom and bride shall not be heard in you anymore. For your merchants were the great men of the earth, for by your sorcery all the nations were deceived. 24 And in her was found the blood of prophets and saints, and of all who were slain on the earth.”

Here the city is finally destroyed.
A milestone was thrown by angel, into the sea. This ushered in the destruction.

f. A thanksgiving for the judgement of Babylon (19:1-5)

Revelation 19:1-5 (NKJV) 19 After these things I heard[a] a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, “Alleluia! Salvation and glory and honor and power belong to the Lord[b] our God! 2 For true and righteous are His judgments, because He has judged the great harlot who corrupted the earth with her fornication; and He has avenged on her the blood of His servants shed by her.” 3 Again they said, “Alleluia! Her smoke rises up forever and ever!” 4 And the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God who sat on the throne, saying, “Amen! Alleluia!” 5 Then a voice came from the throne, saying, “Praise our God, all you His servants and those who fear Him, both[c] small and great!”

Here Babylon has fallen and Heaven rejoices.
Why is all that we have seen important? Because God is ridding the earth of its corruption. He is preparing the world for His return.
People have aligned themselves with the dragon, the beast, and the false prophet. They are mad, because everything that they have depended on, up until that point, is gone.
Remember in the beginning, God made the world and he created the Garden of Eden. It was like heaven, until sin came in. Sin had to be dealt with at Calvary. The place God creating again, is just Him creating what he originally set out to do. Before he can allow this to come to pass, he has to deal with the evil in the world first.

C. The Marriage of the Lamb (19:6-10)

Revelation 19:6-10 (NKJV) 6 And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, “Alleluia! For the[a] Lord God Omnipotent reigns! 7 Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.” 8 And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. 9 Then he said to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!’” And he said to me, “These are the true sayings of God.” 10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “See that you do not do that! I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”

The bride of the Lamb is the church. Therefore, as the church, we have to represent ourselves like a good bride.
Verse 6-8 – The church has made herself ready for the groomsman, the Lamb. Who is then is the church? The church are the people, not the building itself.
Verses 9-10 – John got this word and was so overwhelmed, he fell at the angel’s feet. The angel, however, told John not to do this, because he was not God. Too many of us try to worship angels.
John is the writer. All the other writers of gospel, introduce Christ by telling of his birth through Mary, but John starts introducing him by saying, “In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God.

D. The Final Victory

a. One called “the Word of God” (19:11-16)

Revelation 19:11-16 (NKJV) 11 Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. 12 His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had[a] a name written that no one knew except Himself. 13 He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean,[b] followed Him on white horses. 15 Now out of His mouth goes a sharp[c] sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 16 And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND

LORD OF LORDS.

God returns on a white horse to judge and make war.
His name is “The Word of God” and he is followed by an army from heaven, clothed in white, dipped in blood, each on a white horse.

b. The overthrow of the beast and of the false prophet (19:17-21)

Revelation 19:17-21 (NKJV) 17 Then I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly in the midst of heaven, “Come and gather together for the supper of the great God,[a] 18 that you may eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of captains, the flesh of mighty men, the flesh of horses and of those who sit on them, and the flesh of all people, free[b] and slave, both small and great.” 19 And I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army. 20 Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone. 21 And the rest were killed with the sword which proceeded from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse. And all the birds were filled with their flesh. –

The beast and the false prophet wage war against the One who sat on the horse.
The birds were called together to eat the flesh of both kings and slaves.
The beast and the false prophet was cast alive into the lake of fire burring with brimstone.
Those that followed and worshiped them and the image were killed with the sword which proceeded out of the mouth of Him who sat on the white horse.

Revelation 19:11-14 (NKJV) 11 Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. 12 His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had[a] a name written that no one knew except Himself. 13 He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean,[b] followed Him on white horses.- John saw the third heaven (the place where God resides) open up.

He sees someone sitting on a white horse and He on the horse was called “The Word of God” All the saints of God are behind him.
An Angel standing in the sun cried with a loud voice telling all the birds that fly in the midst of heaven to gather for the supper of the great God.
1. They were instructed to eat the flesh of kings, of captains, and of mighty men, kings, horses, and those that sat upon them.
The beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies gathered to make war against Him who sat upon the horse and his army
The beast and the false prophet were captured and cast into the lake of fire.
The rest were killed with the sword from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse and then the birds ate their flesh.

c. Satan bound (20:1-3)

Revelation 20:1-3 (NKJV) 20 Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. 2 He laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years; 3 and he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal on him, so that he should deceive the nations no more till the thousand years were finished. But after these things he must be released for a little while.

Satin (the dragon) was bound and cast into the bottomless pit.
He was bound for 1000 years, but later released for a little while.

d. The first resurrection (20:4-6)

Revelation 20:4-6 (NKJV) 4 And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a[a] thousand years. 5 But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. 6 Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.

John saw thrones and on them sat the souls that were beheaded in the name of the word and those that didn’t have the mark of the beast.
Judgement was committed to them and they reigned with Christ for 1000 yrs. This was the first resurrection.
The 1000 that God reigns is considerate the first resurrection.
Those that take part in the first resurrection will not undergo the second death.

e. Satan’s final overthrow (20:7-10)

Revelation 20:7-10 (NKJV) 7 Now when the thousand years have expired, Satan will be released from his prison 8 and will go out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle, whose number is as the sand of the sea. 9 They went up on the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city. And fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them. 10 The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where[a] the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

Satan is released from the bottomless pit. He goes out to deceive the nations and to gather people to battle.
As they go into the city of the saints, fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them.
The devil, the beast, and the false prophet are cast into the lake of fire and brimstone and they will be tormented day and night forever.

f. The last judgment (20:11-15)

Revelation 20:11-15 (NKJV) 11 Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God,[a] and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. 14 Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.[b] 15 And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.

John saw the dead standing before God and the books were opened, which was the Book of Life.
The dead were judged according to their works, the things written in the books.
The sea, death, and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them and they were judged according to their works.
Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire which is considered the second death.
Anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into this lake of fire too.
Satan was taken and bound up for a thousand years. The beast and false prophets were thrown in lake of fire alive.
You have hell and then the lake of fire. The Jews call hell, the state of being apart from God.
After those thousand years, the devil was bound up, but finally loosed.
This is the fall of Satan.
Satin, the beast, and the false prophet failed.
Satin is the serpent, manipulator of it all. During the 1000 yrs he was in prison, God’s people ruled the earth. After Satan is released, God will finally defeat him.
Satin knows he is defeated, but he is trying to recruit people to go down with him, just like he did when he was kicked out of heaven.
All evil is now out of the earth and now it is time for judgement.
No one wants to experience the second death.
There is a book and God judges you by your works.
There is another book where he is looking for your name.
Imagine what this must look like. The kingdom of righteousness has won. Those on earth then are looking.

IV. A New Heaven and a New Earth

A. “God with them” (21:1-4)

Revelation 21:1-4 (NKJV) 21 Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. 2 Then I, John,[a] saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. 4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”

John sees the holy city, the New Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God.
A loud voice from heaven says:
1. The tabernacle of God is with me, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people.
2. God Himself will be with them and be their God.
3. God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.
4. There will be no more death, sorrow, or crying.
5. There will be no more pain, former things have passed away

B. Separation between good and evil (21:5-8)

Revelation 21:5-8 (NKJV) 5 Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me,[a] “Write, for these words are true and faithful.” 6 And He said to me, “It is done![b] I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. 7 He who overcomes shall inherit all things,[c] and I will be his God and he shall be My son. 8 But the cowardly, unbelieving,[d] abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”

He who sat on the throne made a declaration:
1. Behold I make all things new
2. He tells John to write, because these words are true and faithful
3. He tells John, “It is done, I am the Beginning and the End”
4. He also tells John, “I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. He who overcomes shall inherit all things.”
5. God warns that the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake of fire, the second death.

C. The holy city (21:9-21)

Revelation 21:9-21 (NKJV) 9 Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls filled with the seven last plagues came to me[a] and talked with me, saying, “Come, I will show you the bride, the Lamb’s wife.”[b] 10 And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the great city, the holy[c] Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, 11 having the glory of God. Her light was like a most precious stone, like a jasper stone, clear as crystal. 12 Also she had a great and high wall with twelve gates, and twelve angels at the gates, and names written on them, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel: 13 three gates on the east, three gates on the north, three gates on the south, and three gates on the west. 14 Now the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the names[d] of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. 15 And he who talked with me had a gold reed to measure the city, its gates, and its wall. 16 The city is laid out as a square; its length is as great as its breadth. And he measured the city with the reed: twelve thousand furlongs. Its length, breadth, and height are equal. 17 Then he measured its wall: one hundred and forty-four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of an angel. 18 The construction of its wall was of jasper; and the city was pure gold, like clear glass. 19 The foundations of the wall of the city were adorned with all kinds of precious stones: the first foundation was jasper, the second sapphire, the third chalcedony, the fourth emerald, 20 the fifth sardonyx, the sixth sardius, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, and the twelfth amethyst. 21 The twelve gates were twelve pearls: each individual gate was of one pearl. And the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass.

John carried away in the spirit to a high mountain, was shown the great city, the holy Jerusalem descending out of heaven from God, having the glory of God
The Bride (the New Jerusalem)
1. Her light like jasper stone or clear crystal.
2. She had high walls with twelve gates.
3. There were 12 angels at the gates and the names of the twelve tribes were written on them.
4. There were 3 gates on the East, the North, the South, and the West.
5. There were 12 foundations and on them were written the 12 apostles of the Lamb.
6. The wall of the city was 142 cubits.
7. The wall was of jasper and the city was pure gold, like clear glass.
8. The foundations of the wall were adorned with precious stones.

4^th foundation – emerald
5^th foundation – sardonyx
6^th foundation – sardius

7^th foundation – chrysolite
8^th foundation – beryl

11^th foundation – jacinth

12^th foundation – amethyst

The 12 gates were twelve pearls.
The street of the city was of pure gold.

D. “No night there” (21:22-25)

Revelation 21:22-25 (NKJV) 22 But I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. 23 The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it,[a] for the glory[b] of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light. 24 And the nations of those who are saved[c] shall walk in its light, and the kings of the earth bring their glory and honor into it.[d] 25 Its gates shall not be shut at all by day (there shall be no night there)..

You thought you were going to heaven, but heaven is coming to you.
1. When your loved ones die, they rest in Christ. There is peace in that rest. They are in the place that we refer to as the 3rd heaven, the place where God resides, but when God returns, they will come back with him.
Those that died in sin, are in hell. Note, this is not the lake of fire at this time. Though it is not the lake of fire, they are in hell, and they know it.
Everything sin brought in your way such as pain, death, and tears will go way at that moment.
John saw that there was not temple in the New Jerusalem. There was no need, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb ae the city’s temple.
There is no need for the moon or sun to shine in the city. God’s glory will illuminate it.
There will be no nighttime there either.
The Lamb is the light and all who is saved will walk in it and bring their glory to it.

V. Conclusion: Epilogue

There will come a day, when things will come to end. Tribulation will come and pass. What will occur then? We will be with the Lord in paradise. No pain, no crying, no worry! Everything will be the way God intended it, before sin entered the Garden.
